Baroda Kerala Samajam was formed during the year 1962 under the able Presidentship of Late Prof. Dr. R.K. Das at 63, Alkapuri Society, Baroda. Baroda Kerala Samajam was registered only on 17-2-1982 when the first Committee was constituted under the Presidentship of Mr. A. A. Balan and Secretary Mr. T.V. Radhakrishnan.

Baroda Kerala Samajam is a registered Charitable institution, which has been brought to existence at Baroda, the cultural capital of Gujarat, by the Keralites/ Malayalees residing in and around Baroda, in the year 1962. It is a non political, secular and cultural organization, structured exclusively for charitable purposes.
The priority attached to the aims and objectives of this organization undoubtedly is to up keep the sanctity of Keraleeyam and Kerala culture, within the Keralites in Baroda. It’s aspirations include undertaking activities to bring people of different communities of Kerala residing in and around Baroda under one umbrella, to participate in charitable activities, apart from the aims and objectives like upliftment of the community, encouraging artistic & literary talents amongst its members and well wishers, catering to their social and cultural needs without any differentiation of caste and creed. As charitable activities, Baroda Kerala Samajam undertook measures for; blood donation camps, providing financial assistance to needy patients, bearing funeral expenses for destitute, extending timely contributions to the victims of natural calamities, and extending help in rescue operations in case of flood, earthquake, cyclone etc. It acts as a catalyst in the cultural fusion and thus create harmony among the people of Vadodara.
Due to increasing trend of membership and escalated participation of Keralites, the organization has now risen to an enviable position having attained the status of biggest association of Keralites in Baroda. Baroda Kerala Samajam is always ready to help the Keralites within the limitation of the Samajam.
With the whole hearted help not only from Keralites but also from well-wishers BKS has its own Multipurpose Hall at Makarpura, which is one of the biggest hall in Baroda from where the Samajam is operating. Apart from this, Samajam has a registered office at Fatehgunj, Baroda. For the purpose of smooth functioning and to attend to the needs of Keralites in time, three functional zones have been created viz. Fatehgunj, Subhanpura and Makarpura which carry out the day today activities in their respective areas.
Objectives
Ø Organizing Garba Competitions with local residents of Baroda in order to have harmonial relation and oneness among them.
Ø Conducting Blood donation camps, eye camps, medical camps, etc. regularly with active participation of general public.
Ø Promoting General Social artistic cultural, literary and physical activities amongst the Members in and around Baroda.
Ø Promoting goodwill and fraternity with associations and groups having similar objectives.
Ø Helping to solve problems of the Members to inculcate in them the spirit of fraternity and cooperation with local people.
Ø Making ourselves instrumental in cultural and social exchange between the local residents and promote national integration.
Ø Organizing classes for the members in the field of language, music, dance etc. to create congenial harmony.
Ø Extending possible help on occasions of distress in any part of Gujarat.
Ø Providing Multipurpose hall to facilitate the public of Baroda in general and keralites in particular to have social functions, get-to-gethers, marriages etc.
Ø Bearing funeral expenses for the deceased and also extending timely contributions.

Baroda Kerala Samajam is an independent registered society to protect the interest of all Keralites residing at Baroda and nearby area. All Keralites can become a member of Kerala Samajam Society, Baroda irrespective of their caste, religion or belief. Two types of membership facility are available - Annual Member and Life Member. One can become an annual member by filling up certain form and a membership fee of Rs.100/- for an year. Life membership fee is Rs.500/- for life long time and Rs. 2500/- is for Patron Membership for the member and his/her family. We expect that all Keralites of Baroda shall come under the roof of Baroda Kerala Samajam Association, Baroda to strengthen our hands to represent and protect the interest of all Malayalees.
We need to have good facilities and funds for needy people. We need to generate funds for the same. Samajam officials are planning to contact its members and well wishers for their whole hearted support
It is imperative to have more interactions with each and every Malayalees of Baroda. We have a premises to assemble. It is the humble request to utilize the facility available at BKS Hall Makarpura.
The Office Bearers and the Executive Members are always available to extend any help and support to the needy people. If you notice any incidents in which any Malayalee is involved, please use the contact number of any of the committee member or reach at Samajam office at Makarpura, so that we can extend timely support / help / assistance to the concerned Malayalee - whether he is a member of Samajam or not.
